For the ATEC 2021 Capstone Celebration, I decided to make a fighting game companion app title 'ggFGC'. The app centers around the connecting players in the fighting game community to locate tournaments, interact with the community, and improve their skills through matchmaking.

Research
As a long time fan of fighting games, I have always found the challenge in learning and improving an integral part of their appeal. However, too much of a challenge can creates barriers to entry for many players that prevent them from getting into the genre. My research was conducted through a survey in fighting game communities that I frequent. The questions focused their fighting game experience, new player experience, and obstacles to improving at fighting games.

How can the fighting game community attract and retain members to continue the growth of the tournaments and different scenes?
